Editing the Video- almost done.

As Jack and Claire have faced the majority of the video editing, they have blogged quite a lot of their updates to do with editing the video. As these are a lot more informative than the editing blogposts that were written by Alysha and myself, I will link to their posts about editing.

Here are some screen grabs to show the numbers of cuts and complexity of our editing. This was a month or so ago which means that the number of shots and transitions between shots has doubled.

To upload footage from the tape to Final Cut Express, we have to capture the footage using 'In' points and 'Out' points which decipher where to begin and end the capture. The software took some getting used to but now we are nearing completion of our video, all four of us are a lot better acquainted with the software- especially Claire who seemed to know it inside and out after about 3 minutes.

Cross dissolves play a big part in our music video whether we like it or not. This is because of the pace of the music and the topic in which we set our video on. The green bar along the bottom is the soundtrack and any diegetic sound has been deleted. Once again, these screen grabs are from a month or so ago so the spaces between the clips are now gone and the video s so nearly ready! Very exciting!
